In Turkey, amendments and additions were made to the Mining Law aimed at improving the investment climate and attracting investments in the mining sector.
There is a statement in the Mining Law about UMREK Committee on Standards of Public Reporting on the results of geological exploration, mineral resources and reserves, which will be established to develop and implement the public reporting standards of Turkey based on the CRIRSCO template. The UMREK Committee will be formed from representatives of state bodies, private companies, the stock exchange, banks, professional organizations. The working group, comprising representatives of all the above-mentioned participants, is actively working since the beginning of this year.
Twice this year workshops were held with the invitation of CRIRSCO members.
In August 24-26, Association KAZRC represented by the Executive Director Saule Urazayeva took part in the 2nd workshop.
From the CRIRSCO committee were 4 other participants- Harry Parker (USA), Roger Dixon (South Africa), Bat-erdene Dash (Mongolia) and Felipe Alves (Brazil).
The seminar was very well organized, all the documents submitted by UMREK were considered in detail, recommendations of CRIRSCO participants for the Roadmap for further work were developed.
UMREK is preparing to join the CRIRSCO before the end of 2017 and the Association KAZRC, like all the other members of the CRIRSCO, strongly supports it in this endeavor.
